End of the Season! Capital City Farmers’ Market – Saturday, November 18 – 9am-noon

It’s finally here…our last market of the season. I want to take a moment to extend a huge debt of gratitude to all of the Capital City Farmers’ Market vendors and customers. Nine years ago when Julie, Matt, and myself conjured up the idea of a farmers’ market, our goal was to provide local produce, meat, and other products while also promoting small local farmers, ranchers, and craftsmen. As I look back at the markets this season, I’m so thrilled with the quality and quantity of items offered. It’s extremely rewarding to watch folks leave market each week with bags full of wonderful items to nourish their families. We hope to continue our growth, both in vendors and customers, for years to come. We can’t wait to start Season 10 next May!!

Now, let’s focus on the incredible Saturday ahead! What an opportunity to select a local turkey for your Thanksgiving meal! You can also purchase hummus for an appetizer, bread & biscuits for your dinner table, potatoes for some creamy mashed taters (My personal favorite item on the dinner table…every…year.), Brussels sprouts & parsnips for wonderful roasted vegetables, and winter squash to make pies (Ask us which ones will make stellar pie filling. Trust us on this!)topped with Grande Caramel to satisfy the sweet tooth in your family.

Maybe you are interested in stocking up on meat and produce for winter consumption? So many of these items will store well! Just ask us what to buy and how to store them. Also, be sure to try this Pot Sticker recipe. It’s amazing!

Don’t forget to grab some Christmas gifts from BLC Ranch. Anyone would be lucky to receive one of their hats, cowls, or wraps. They are wonderfully warm and beautiful as well! And, definitely stock up on dog biscuits for your favorite family member. I’m telling you, my neighbor dog, Hunter, stares longingly at me every morning until I give him his daily treat. He’s addicted.

As a market, we accept credit cards and EBT. Shop all the vendors and pay once before you leave! Stop at the Market Manager booth to start the process and have fun shopping.
