Fort Pierre Farmers’ Market – Tuesday, July 17 – 5pm-7:30pm

Come celebrate Medieval Knights with us Tuesday evening from 5pm-7:30pm downtown Fort Pierre. The Knights of Columbus are hosting a sloppy joe food fundraiser, so your dinner is covered! Stop by the SCA booth to make your own pewter Pilgrim Badge. In the Medieval times Pilgrims would take home medallions and badges to show they had been on a trip. You’ll be able to cast your own and learn about how molds were made for casting. Members of the SCA will be wearing and displaying armor and weapons they use for combat. Visitors can try on the armor and even take a few swings at a practice pole, a pell, just like a knight in training would have done. Kids can also stop by another booth sponsored by B&G Produce and design their own crown, tiara, or sword to take home.

For those of you who weren’t able to pick up B&G Produce bread on Saturday morning, there will be bread Tuesday evening. Also, Venner Farm will have some mixed lettuce. Plus, check out all the delicious sweet treats available from Nancy’s Nest and Venner Farm!

Burnished Hope and Boom Shack Studio have a jewelry class next week. Check out more information here.

Most farmers’ market vendors accept credit cards and EBT. Shop vendors who accept cc/EBT and pay once before you leave! Stop at the Market Manager booth to start the process and have fun shopping.

Capital City Farmers’ Market – Saturday, July 7 – 9am-noon

We’ve got a great Saturday market ahead for our first weekend in July! It’s starting to get hot out there, folks. Matt and I started our on-the-way-back-to-town-river-plunge late last week. It’s the perfect way for us to cool down and feel refreshed enough to make dinner with our fresh produce when we get home after a long, hot day in the garden.

Amanda is back face painting this weekend! She’s prepared to paint as many zebras, puppies, Mutant Ninja Turtles, and butterflies as possible! Master Gardeners will also be back this weekend. Curious about the growth of your pepper plants? Stop by and ask them what they think!

Please help us welcome Boom Shack Studio to this Saturday market. Jill joined us for a couple Fort Pierre markets last season, but this is her first weekend market. She will have fresh lily bouquets, glass-fused jewelry, and kolach pastries.

Haiwick Heritage Ranch is here for their monthly visit. Stop by and visit with Paula, then pick up some of her awesome Filet Mignon!

This will be the last Saturday market for Bad River Pack until mid-August. So, it would be a great time to stock up on their specialty meat snacks!

Other new items this week include Organic Natural Hand Sanitizer, Organic Almond Butter Maple Cookies, Organic Snickerdoodle Cookies, Blueberry Pecan Scones, and Espresso Cream Scones.

Last, but certainly not least, remember we are holding a Largest Pumpkin Contest on Saturday, October 27. So, treat those little plants like royalty and prepare to contend with some big pumpkins!

As a market, we accept credit cards and EBT. Shop vendors who accept cc/EBT and pay once before you leave! Stop at the Market Manager booth to start the process and have fun shopping.

Fort Pierre Farmers’ Market – Tuesday, June 26 – 5pm-7:30pm

Endive

It’s Safety Night! What does that mean? It means we’ll have fire trucks, police vehicles, and more!

The food fundraiser this week is by Beck Motors and is raising funds for the Mayors’ Anti-Bullying Task Force. Stop down for a beef hot dog and chips to support a great cause.

Kids can jump in the bouncy house. Adults and kids will enjoy making their own medieval perfume. And, be sure to have an Old West Photo taken before going on a horse drawn wagon ride!

As for your market vendors, Burnished Hope has a few new necklace and bracelet designs. Brewbirds is featuring Lavender Iced Tea this week. This will probably be the last market with rhubarb and garlic scapes for the season, so grab some while you can! We had a very green omelet for breakfast this morning. I sautéed the last of our green garlic, some bacon, scallions, garlic scapes, asparagus, parsley, oregano, chives, and kale. Finished the saute with some homemade tomato sauce and then folded all of that into some farm fresh eggs. Even more enjoyable sitting on our deck to eat.

Most farmers’ market vendors accept credit cards and EBT. Shop vendors who accept cc/EBT and pay once before you leave! Stop at the Market Manager booth to start the process and have fun shopping.
