Looks like we’re headed into a lovely weekend. I have felt in the last couple of days, and I’m guessing you have too, there’s a cool in the air. The cool feel of fall. And, I’m here for it. This was a rough summer for farmers, especially those working in the fields all day. The heat is draining. So, getting some cooler evenings and sleeping with the windows open is a welcome gift from mother nature. It also gets me stoked for fall food. Mashed potatoes…yes, 100% yes. Pot roast…why even ask, it’s a yes. Baked pies…of course! This market will be the perfect time to start stocking your freezer and shelves full of goodies to enjoy throughout the winter.

The Prairie Potters Master Gardeners will be joining us for the last time this season. Be sure to stop down and get your plant and garden questions answered!

First…pies are back! Stop by Inner Light 23 to grab a blueberry, cherry, and/or pecan pie! They are all delicious!!

Second, be sure to bring a chair and enjoy some live music! We are excited to welcome Katie Dwyer to market this weekend as she performs live.

“Constantly exploring her musical boundaries, Katie Dwyer is a self-producing indie artist evolving with each new release. Her honest, witty lyrics invite you into her mind and often give you a sneak peek of her personal life. She is comfortable creating music that is hybrid in its genre, usually somewhere between hook-filled indie pop rock and dreamy singer/songwriter.”

Lastly, the Short Grass Arts Council is hosting and selling tickets to the Calvin Jones Concert on September 18. Calvin is a T. F. Riggs High School graduate who went on to become a very successful composer and performer, working in the United States and Russia.
