CCFM | Saturday, August 20 2022 | 9am-noon

School has officially started which means summer is starting to wind down.  Don’t worry though; things are continuing to heat up at the farmer’s market.  So many items available this weekend are perfect for canning, freezing, and drying so you can use them late in the year.  Sweet corn can be roasted or left alone, and then frozen or canned.  Sweet, small cucumbers can be packed into jars and pickled.  Peppers can be dried or frozen, and zucchini and summer squash can be shredded and frozen.  Then, when it’s really cold outside, you have lovely summer produce to enjoy. Not sure how to preserve something?  Ask us!

As a side note: Hanisch Farms will have their meat trailer back at market next weekend, the 27th, so if you would like to place an order please do so by emailing hanischfarms@yahoo.com by Wednesday, the 24th.

The bell rings at 9am, at the corner of Sioux Avenue and Coteau Street.  We hope to see you there!
