Market – Saturday, July 22 – 9am-noon

We have had a busy week thus far! Sunday was another hot day at the farm, cultivating tomatoes and peppers. Monday, we were up at 5am to make granola, pesto, and hummus. Then, to the farm which was so very hot. We did as much as we could, but tried to save energy. Tuesday, we were up before sunrise to start harvesting and then to the Ft Pierre Bicentennial Farmers’ Market at 5pm. Wednesday, we finally had a cool enough day to transplant some scallions, fennel, and lettuce which was awesome. Today, we were up at 5am to make granola, pesto, and hummus and then to the farm for a fun interview with PBS for their Savor Dakota show with MJ Adams. Tonight, we are speaking at the One Book SD Author Tour at the Ramkota before J Ryan Stradel talks about his book, Kitchens of the Great Midwest. Tomorrow morning, we’ll be up before sunrise to beat the heat and harvest for market Saturday morning. And then, we’ll do it all again next week. This is our summer and although we’re exhausted, we are loving it!

Bring your fuzzy wuzzy dogs this weekend because Bab’s will be there with her tasty dog biscuits! Our farm dog, Sam, happily wags his tail and finds a shady spot to enjoy his biscuits.

Sunshine Coffee is coming prepared with Lavender Lemonade featuring B&G Produce lavender. If you didn’t get one before they ran out Tuesday night, be sure to arrive early on Saturday. You do not want to miss these hand-squeezed cups of deliciousness.

B&G Produce is debuting their first garlic and green beans of the season. We know how much you all love them both! Plus, White Chocolate Blueberry bread is back. If you haven’t made French toast with this yet, you are missing out!

As a market, we accept credit cards and EBT. Shop all the vendors and pay once before you leave! Stop at the Market Manager booth to start the process and have fun shopping.
