Market – Saturday, July 15

We have thoroughly savored these last couple days of warm, not horribly hot, weather. The plants in the garden have absolutely loved it as well, even though it appears to be short-lived. Back to heat tomorrow. That’s ok, because we’ve got plenty of cool items for you at market. See what I did there?

Hanisch Farms is joining us this weekend with all of their meat items, farm fresh eggs, and vegetables. Plus, roaster chickens and brats are back in stock! Woohoo!

Sunshine Coffee will get a little visit from me this weekend. I need another Lindy. You may think I’m kidding, but I get one every…single…time.

B&G Produce will have a few, and I mean just a few, mini romaine lettuce this weekend. We know you love them. Also, we will introduce our new Blue Cheese Walnut Pesto. Doesn’t it just sound amazing? Plus, it’s kind of like you have your own personal chef, right? Since Matt is making it for you?

If you have a chance, we’d love to see you at the One Book SD Author Tour on Thursday, July 20 at the Ramkota in Pierre. Matt and I will have a 30 minute presentation talking about our transition from corporate restaurant life into our new garden life. Then, J Ryan Stradal, author or Kitchens of the Great Midwest will talk about his book. This was a fun read for me. Not only did it center around food as a part of our lives, but it talked about places in the Midwest, including Pierre. If that isn’t enough to convince you to attend, before the presentations there will be some hors d’ oeuvres and cash bar. Tickets are $25 and available at Prairie Pages. Here’s some more information.

As a market, we accept credit cards and EBT. Shop all the vendors and pay once before you leave! Stop at the Market Manager booth to start the process and have fun shopping.
