Market – Saturday, June 28

One sign that Summer has arrived is the basil. When it gets to the point we need to harvest because it’s starting to flower, I know it’s because warmer weather is surrounding us. Guess what? We’re there.

There’s nothing better than a fresh summer meal or even the simplicity of finishing a dish with a chiffonade of fresh herbs. You can’t capture those tastes and flavors any other time of the year. We try, in various methods, and the end product is pretty darn good. But, the best time to eat fresh items is when they are at their peak freshness. You’ll always find that at market. We sell what we grow. We know when it’s ready to go from garden to market stand to your table.

What a market we have this weekend! So much variety for you to select from. Stop down and stock up for the week (or month if you’re buying from Hanisch Farms). Also, this will be the last weekend for Bub’s asparagus this season, so be sure to get yours! You’ll be happy you did.
